Elektronicafabrikant Samsung kan de groter dan verwachte vraag naar de onlangs gepresenteerde Note 7 slechts met moeite aan. De lancering van de smartphone is daarom in een aantal landen vertraagd.
Dat meldt Samsung woensdag, zonder te vermelden om welke landen het precies gaat. Het Zuid-Koreaanse bedrijf zegt de productie op te voeren en hoopt "zo spoedig mogelijk" kunnen voldoen aan de grote vraag.

Vorig jaar zorgden problemen bij de productie van het gebogen scherm van de Galaxy S6 al voor teleurstellende resultaten. Volgens ingewijden is er deze keer niets mis met dat productieproces en is het tekort van korte duur.

Samsung presenteerde de Note 7 begin deze maand. De smartphone heeft een groot scherm van 5,7 inch met gebogen randen en een irisscanner waarmee het toestel ontgrendeld kan worden. Vanaf 2 september moet het toestel in de Nederlandse winkels liggen.
