Een kwart van de Nederlandse zieken

Een kwart van de Nederlandse ziekenhuizen heeft een online patiëntenportaal waar mensen hun eigen gegevens kunnen inzien. Van de 82 ziekenhuizen bieden zestig ziekenhuizen deze optie nog niet, concludeert Nictiz bij de NOS.
Nictiz, het kenniscentrum voor ICT in de zorg, vindt het een goede zaak dat al een kwart van de ziekenhuizen een online portaal heeft. "Maar er valt nog een flinke slag te slaan", aldus Johan Krijgsman, onderzoeker bij het kenniscentrum, bij de NOS.

Het kenniscentrum onderzocht de online portalen bij ziekenhuizen op achttien criteria, waaronder de mogelijkheid tot inzage in het medisch dossier en het online maken van een afspraak. Voor ziekenhuizen is er geen verplichting om een online patiëntenportaal te hebben.

Volgens Krijgsman komen wel steeds meer ziekenhuizen met een dergelijk portaal. Onder meer het Spaarne Ziekenhuis, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, VUMC en het Erasmus MC bieden een patiëntenportaal aan.

Doelstelling
Minister Schippers zei in 2014 dat binnen vijf jaar alle chronisch zieken online toegang moeten hebben tot hun medische gegevens. De Nederlandse Vereniging van Ziekenhuizen (NVZ) denkt dat deze doelstelling wel zal worden gehaald wanneer er een juiste stimulering voor komt.

"Bijvoorbeeld een financiële stimulering, maar ook door dit onderwerp prioriteit te geven boven andere onderwerpen", aldus de NVZ tegen de NOS.
