Verzekeraars komen met uniforme informatiekaart voor zorgverzekering

Zorgverzekeraars introduceren dit najaar bij hun basisverzekering een uniforme informatiekaart. Dit moet het voor consumenten makkelijker maken om zorgverzekeringen met elkaar te vergelijken.
De zogenoemde zorgverzekeringskaart toont onder meer de belangrijkste polisvoorwaarden en informatie over vergoedingen, meldt brancheorganisatie Zorgverzekeraars Nederland donderdag.

Doordat de verzekeraars dezelfde rubrieken, dezelfde vormgeving en gestandaardiseerde teksten gebruiken, kunnen verzekerden de zorgverzekeringen beter met elkaar vergelijken.

Keuzevrijheid
De kaarten laten ook zien wat de keuzevrijheid is bij de meest gebruikte vormen van zorg. Zo wordt duidelijk met welke zorgaanbieders de zorgverlener contracten heeft gesloten. Dit heeft invloed op de vergoedingen voor verzekerden met naturapolissen en combinatiepolissen.

Daarnaast staat er algemene informatie op over wat een basisverzekering en wat het eigen risico is. Overigens zullen er geen kaarten voor aanvullende verzekeringen zoals tandartsverzekeringen gemaakt worden.

Vergelijkingssites
Uiterlijk 19 november verschijnen de kaarten op de sites van de zorgverzekeraars. De Consumentenbond en Independer zullen de kaarten ook voor hun vergelijkingssites gebruiken. Zorgverzekeraars Nederland roept andere vergelijkingssites op dit ook te doen.

Voor andere soorten verzekeringen zijn er al dergelijke verzekeringskaarten. Zo bestaan ze al voor onder meer schadeverzekeringen, levensverzekeringen, autoverzekeringen, reisverzekeringen en rechsbijstandverzekeringen.
