Na een flinke zomerdip komt Turkije voorzichtig terug als vakantiebestemming van Nederlanders
Nederlanders boekten in augustus 15 procent minder pakketreizen naar het land dan in dezelfde maand vorig jaar, meldt brancheorganisatie Algemene Nederlandse Vereniging van Reisondernemingen (ANVR). Dat is volgens de reisbranche organisatie een aanzienlijke verbetering vergeleken met de voorgaande maanden.

Zo bedroeg de daling in juli liefst 45 procent en in juni 26 procent. Sinds het begin van het jaar lopen de boekingen naar Turkije nu zo'n 34 procent achter vergeleken met vorig jaar rond deze tijd. Vooral Spanje (plus 29 procent) en Portugal (plus 23 procent) wisten te profiteren van de malaise in Turkije. Ook Griekenland doet het goed als zonbestemming.

In totaal hebben Nederlanders volgens de ANVR iets meer (0,5 procent) vakanties geboekt in de eerste acht maanden van het jaar dan in dezelfde periode vorig jaar.

Goedkoop
Volgens touroperators trekt Turkije aan omdat het goedkoop is. "Voor de prijs van een viersterren-appartement in Spanje zit je met de herfst in een vijf sterren all inclusive in Turkije", zegt Daisy Mijnals van Corendon, de grootste aanbieder van reizen naar Turkije in Nederland.
